Off the beaten track on the Outer Banks: Frisco Native American Museum

We stayed at Barrier Island Station

Possibly one of the smaller attractions on the Outer Banks, Frisco Native American Museum offers a wide perspective on Native American culture in North America. A self proclaimed little maze of artifacts, the owners just kept building on to the existing structure to accommodate their expanding collection of artifacts. Most of the artifacts have been donated by the public, with a broad range of local to nation wide tribes. The artifacts are well labeled, but I may have liked to have more information about the actual tribes at certain times. We didn't have time to walk the nature trails, but they seem to be nice and well kept. There are some activities for those that are visually impaired, and a small table of deep water dredge where kids can hunt for shark teeth and other fossils. A small entrance fee is collected.
